Do you remember the thrill you experienced as a child climbing in trees ?

When I was a boy growing up in the country my brothers and I where forever climbing in trees, probably far too high and in trees that where not totally safe but you know what young boys are like, six feet tall and bullet proof and telling them not to climb too high is like telling a dog not to chase the cat.

Eventually we progressed from just climbing trees to wanting to live in them and so came about our first tree house. Now as wonderful we thought it was at the time looking back I realize now its modesty, really just a small step ladder and a floor a few feet across ( the first tree house we built didn’t even have walls or a roof, it was more just a platform to stand on but we thought it was like a castle built in the sky.

We thought our tree house was a wonderful and magical place, the very best tree house ever built that was until the father of one of the boys in town designed and built him a proper tree house. I still remember the first time I saw are real tree house it was truly spectacular.

Positioned about 10 feet up in a huge sturdy Oak Tree it was huge, it not only had walls and windows and a roof this mansion in the sky was two story ! Or at least had a sort of viewing deck on the roof that you could climb up onto from a set of stairs inside the main room.

I was captivated by this amazing structure and I believe it started my love affair with Architecture and Building Design, I always promised myself that when I had kids and they where old enough together we would design, plan and construct a tree house of their very own.

It a great place to start to learn how Floor Plan Software works after all a Tree House has many of the elements of a regular home just on a smaller and more modest scale, you will need a floor, door, windows and yes if you are truly ambitious you might even built a two story tree house !
