Visual Merchandising Software

Visual Merchandising ( VM ), until recently called simply merchandising, is the activity of promoting the sale of goods, especially by their presentation in retail outlets.(New Oxford Dictionary of English, 1999, Oxford University Press). This includes combining product, environment, and space into a stimulating and engaging display to encourage the sale of a product or service.

The art of Visual Merchandising has so much in common with the Interior Design and Architecture disciplines that it did not come as any surprise to us when we first started to get customers that where buying our Home Design Software Suite and using it as 3D Visual Merchandising Software.

That is one of the key points of our Master Upgrade – its not just for houses, in fact if its a built environment project then you can probably model it in our 3D Software.

Your sales team could use both the screencapture images and the real time interactive model in Visual Merchandising Presentations. Our presentation layers mode allows you to quickly switch between options or variations – eg floor decals / no floor decals, you can create an almost unlimited number of combination choices but only activate them on demand.

This image is from a conceptual model created for a wine store retailer pre-construction discussions, the image below that is a photograph of the finished design, the Visual Merchandising  including signage was presented in an interactive 3D model.

The products that are inserted into the library can be modeled in the software itself as the wine dispenser object from the model above was and generally enhanced with photograph overlays as we have done, signage logos etc – you can also import 3D mesh models in the 3ds format ( Master Upgrade only )

Our own market research has shown us that there are a number of purpose built Visual Merchandising Software Solutions on the market, but they tend to be very very expensive – in some cases tens of thousands of dollars. You may be able to apply our Home Design Software Suite to the task for a fraction of that cost, you will however require the Master Upgrade Version to really get the most our of the tool. The Master Upgrade sell for $395, that may be the most cost effective Visual Merchandising Software on the Market.
